Occupational Therapy Manager
Katrina is the Occupational Therapy Manager for ONE STOP Allied Health and Educational Speech Pathology & Therapy Services. She has been with the practice since 2007 and has worked in a variety of settings including preschools, primary schools, special needs schools, high schools and one to one therapy in private practice.
Throughout her time with the practice she has gained extensive experience in school based therapy within whole class, small group & individual sessions.
Katrina thoroughly enjoys collaborating with parents and teachers to improve children’s education & overall life goals. She has a lot of experience in presenting to large and small groups of teachers, parents and members of the community. She truly loves sharing her knowledge to improve the development & schooling experience of young children & their families.
Katrina has been a part of numerous newspaper articles, radio interviews & Education of child care workers throughout Australia & the international platform. Katrina has also published a journal article in the Occupational Therapy Journal of Research in 2008.
Katrina has had many years’ experience teaching dance and has combined her two passions of dance and OT to create a gross motor dance program for kindergarten, stage 1 & support unit students which she has been implementing since 2007.
Katrina now works with the practice on a part time basis as she has 3 young children (including a set of twins!). She is our main ” therapy blogger” on this site and loves sharing her knowledge and experiences with everyone to help improve parents knowledge on how to help their children.
Her areas of expertise include extensive experience in providing individual therapy to children with special needs as well as typically developing children with some difficulties within their everyday function. Katrina also has extensive experience with school based paediatric support, team teaching in the classroom and working with children in a group setting.
She specialises in fussy eating, play therapy, fine motor, handwriting and gross motor skills as well as sensory integration & visual perception therapy. Parent and teacher training is a true passion for her.
