Helping Children Learn to Communicate

Speech Therapy at this young age is highly effective. Sessions are largely play based with the therapist using focused language stimulation strategies to help your child meet their speech and language goals. This style of therapy allows children to learn language in a natural context which not only enables them to learn new words, but learn how to use these words in a functional way.

A big part of sessions with children at this age also involves you, the parent. You will be involved in setting goals for your child and will work with the therapist to develop easy and effective strategies to help your child at home.

Check out the developmental checklist on the 0-3 bubs and toddlers page for skills that your child should be developing at this age.
